Hiya RJ. I had the same experience when i first got it, but I just use a rubber band........Problem solved...
Until the rubber band pops off.
Yes I suppose it could happen, but it's been on there 2 years now and hasn't "popped off," yet.
With the tape its always ready to be pullled open or taped closed.
Ha, but there again sticky tape, does lose its "stickiness," over time and with the actuation of opening and closing the case. So, there is always the possibility of it opening at the wrong time, and dropping your peanut.
The tape is a heavy duty type which sticks rather strongly after many repeated uses. The commercial name is Gorilla Tape. I use this because it is a clear tape unlike Duct tape.
This tape is used in conjunction with the case's own snap lock design.
When rushed I did not properly close the case. With this tape I have no worry.
P.S. Rubber bands do dry out over time.
Yes RJ I am quite aware that rubber does perish. The one on there at the moment has been tied once, as I snapped it. I must remember to replace it with a new one. Good luck holding your peanut mate.
