Ah, fair enough re the x1, I forgot it came out first~

Re the 'other LX cameras,' which ones were in the same manual-control style? I've looked at several just to remind myself but don't see any with dedicated controls like the LX100 or x100 (maybe I am missing something).

All that aside, I think my point was largely missed - what I was saying was that the x100 created space and interest in the market for this camera design (you can re-read what I wrote, I said it owed the x100 not that it copied it). Again, if there are sales numbers that say differently let me know, but from what I can find online the x100 (and the whole series) sold far more than the x1 and was more important in raising consumer interest in this design than the x1. That was my point (that it helped make it viable for panasonic to consider a design like the lx100 for the broader market). Beyond that, I just wasn't clear on how usability was so different for you when the cameras are so similar (to me, and I've used both, IQ is the primary difference, not usability).
