Sigma 18-300mm

Hi, I have a 600d/T3i with 55-250 stm and am looking for more reach. I tried the Tamron 70-300mm vc usd, but found it was a bit soft at 300mm, and also tried the Canon 70-300mm is usm, but although I found it a bit better than the Tamron, still a bit soft at 300mm. I am on a budget so can't afford to look at L lenses (would love the 70-300mm L )  but came across the Sigma 18-300mm whilst reading a forum, and checked it out on the digital picture, and it seems a bit better at the long end than the previous two I've mentioned. Just wondered if anyone had any experience with this lens, and how sharp it is at 300mm? I am happy to buy used. Thanks in advance.
