Ha! Thanks! Obviously I forgot to look 24 bajillion replies down for that information. Silly me.

As I thought - you have shot an almost flat scene. I'm guessing at f/5.6 or so - or, like I also suspected, you were a long way from the subject, hence no background blur to speak of. I can't tell as there's still no aperture or distance information. You also did not use manual focus as I suspected earlier.

If you REALLY want to make a useful test, grab your tripod, grab the three lenses and pick a scene - preferably one with a strong foreground subject and a wide aperture so that the background gets really thrown out of focus and create BOKEH. The scene you had there would work just fine if you'd have stepped forward by 2 metres or so.

Seriously, how can you call that image a bokeh test when the whole thing is practically in focus? That's not a bokeh test at all, that's just a test of how the lens renders almost-in-focus circles of light in the corners.

I would GENUINELY be interested in seeing your Canon 35mm f/1.4L II vs the Mk1 and the Sigma if you actually shot anything remotely like a real bokeh test.

Cheers,

Mark.
