The reason I said art is no match for 35L II is because it is the truth! (well sigma is 1/2 the cost)

Comparing 35mm f2 IS to 35mm art in my opinion is a mismatch.

My last post here in this thread. I didnt mean to hijack this thread in the first place.

Information in the link I posted

this thread ----->>> http://www.dpreview.com/forums/post/56642803

Yes, that's the thread. Where are the full frame images? Where is the aperture information? Where is the focusing distance information? Oh, that's right. They're not there. Just corner crops. Also, you mention in that thread that the Sigma focused inconsistently, sooooo... you didn't manually focus then?

Useful. Thanks.

As for the 35mm f/2 IS & Sigma 35mm f/1.4 A comparison being a mismatch, how do you figure that? They both have nearly identical RRPs (even though Canon have slashed their price now) and so are head-to-head with each other. I'm sure that others will have been in a similar boat to me too - having owned the Canon and wondering if the Sigma was a worthy purchase for that extra stop.

Thanks for all your input into this thread. I look forward to your input again one day.

Cheers,

Mark.
