And I agree entirely with your statement. It's that "something" that's missing from the Canon, isn't it. Even though - on paper - we're talking about teeny differences in the bokeh, when viewed as part of a complete photograph it can make the difference between the subject popping nicely or your eye being slightly drawn to the background.

Obviously that amount will vary depending on how complex the background detail is which is why I set up this worse-case-scenario.
