This review might come a bit late, but as Canon seems to be expanding their M series mirrorless cameras, I decided to include my point of view.

Im a professional videographer and photographer, so for my memory photos I expect them to be memories, but also to have a certain level of quality. I want something with me small enough but not too costly, so I do not have to worry too much to let it to a friends kid or to worry about being stolen, and that I can use for most situations. Night, travel, social...

A full frame digital camera is not something you want to carry around. Neither it is for me a 3.000$ full frame mirrorless camera. That is why I bought the eos m when it was on offer for $300 with the EOS M 22mm 2.0 lens.

This combination is just great for the purpose i mention.

If your philosophy is similar, or you want to learn photography, this combination (prob w the M2 now) is just great.

If you are about to build a new system, then I would advise to check sony or panasonic, as they seem to be offering more in their mirrorless systems.

An example of what Im talking about can be found here.

I went with a friend who runs an NGO here in Cambodia to visit one of his projects to prepare a film. I did not want to set a distance with the people there carrying a big dslr, so I took my eos m in my bag with the 22mm and the 11-22mm wideangle. The photo quality is not as great as with my L lenses, but it tells the story with enough quality.

Anything you buy and USE will be good enough, so dont think too much about it. There is no need for the latest gadgets anyway!

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

inazio
