Hmm, from IR's review and that the manual only states it's compatible with UHS-II media (not that is can use the UHS-II protocol), I wonder if the camera body is UHS-II. Since UHS-II media (ie SDcard) must be backwards compatible with UHS-I ports (ie camera body), can any UHS-I camera say "compatible with UHS-II media" without supporting the UHS-II pins, protocol, and most important for us users, speeds?

I wonder if the OP would get faster speeds with a UHS-I U3 card like the sandisk extreme pro 95MB/s, or one of lexar's 633x cards?

I never had a problem with SD cards, so I had tried formatting the card in the camera prior to my original post, but it didn't seem to help. So I finally decided to try a different card, a slower version of the card you suggested (Sandisk Extreme UHS-I U3) and lo and behold, the problem seems to have gone away. I'll monitor things over time to make sure that it doesn't recur, but things look good now.

Thanks to everyone who responded with suggestions, clarifying questions, personal experience, etc. This looks to be a great forum!
