Considering a Uni-loc tripod

I got parts..

I got some parts for mine from them recently, no problems

(actually the parts were for an old Benbo -- 30 years old from before the split between patterson/benbo and the original designers who changed the name to UniLoc)

I also  have one of their new Unilocs. One minor complaint; the design has changed so the legs don't go floppy when the lock is released. This is safer, I'll grant. But it's much harder to use and position than the original design, which if you were careful and held on the the camera, just flopped into place nicely.

BTW there seemed to be some confusion in the thread between Benbo and Benro. The latter is a Chinese maker of very good Gitzo copies with no relation to Benbo at all except possibly thinking that their name had the resonance of an old school brand...
