Canon PowerShot SX170 IS Review
1

I carry this camera in my camera bag along with a Nikon D5000 and a few lenses, and it's perfect for when your somewhere where a huge DSLR would be noticed. It's compact, build quality is good, and also the image quality is excellent.

PROS:

16 MP CCD sensor

Built-in flash (does not automatically pop up)

720p video mode

16x optical zoom

Manual mode (most point-and-shoots don't have this)

Good ISO noise level

CONS:

Flash doesn't automatically pop up

Screen doesn't flip ( oh well... the screen would be smaller if they added that, considering my $800 Nikon D5000's screen is vari-angle and it's only 2.7 inches)

All-in-all, this is a great beginner's camera, also good for pros who don't want to take their $2000 equipment into a place like a restaurants, where it could easily get stolen.
