Notes on G5X
1

A few notes about things I have noticed.

The dimensions and weight are very close:

G5X: 112x76x44mm, 337g
G16: 109x76x41mm, 314g

Note that the height is the same, but the G5X has the EVF hump so that must mean the shoulders are lower than the G16.

The Panasonic LX100 does not have an EVF hump, but when the camera is off the lens projects from the front a lot more than the G5X.

G16 has two custom settings on the mode dial, C1 and C2. The G5X only has one.

It appears that there is no HDR setting on the mode dial like on the G16.

The 24-100 f1.8-2.8 with 20mp will allow cropping to, for example, 150mm with 10mp, 200mm with 5mp, etc. using raw. If you prefer shooting jpegs you can also crop or you can use digital zoom which allows you to accurately view, frame, and can provide more accurate AF and metering.

I hope the knurled ring around the lens is like the one on my S95 (and G7X, I think) and not like the one on my G16. The G16 ring doesn't turn. The S95 ring turns and you set what function it performs

It appears there is a flip-up flash at the front of the EVF hump.

Old style strap lugs that can dig into your hand rather than the superior style on almost all other Canon cameras.
