Fri13,
I've seen what you're showing on the screen on my E-M1. However, I believe that is just a grid choice you make in the settings. You can have a different grid based upon the mode you're using. I don't think that is indicating the PDAF focusing is active, though maybe it is there to show us the area of PDAF sensors.
It isn't the grid, so don't please mistake it to that. The overlay grids are:
E-M1 manual, Page 95.
That grid exactly indicates only PDAF being used and shows the photographer the area where the subject needs to be kept inside for continues autofocus.
The question really is why it is shown when using Exposure Bracketing, even when in S-AF/MF but I believe it is a coding mistake as H-seq is used and as it doesn't harm, it wasn't removed (or people doesn't mention it as it looks many doesn't even see it).
The grid that you can choose for rear display and EVF from those five different kinds, and then the EVF-only if using EVF in other modes than Style 3, or what you choose to save in MySets, will be gone and replaced by that PDAF indicator and focus group.
So example you can't get cross hair and PDAF same time. But you can logically see your chosen AF point (normal or small).
I still get all 81 choices and no visible indication that it is actually using PDAF.
Sure I can choose as well but if I choose outside the PDAF group I logically ain't anymore using a PDAF at all and CDAF isn't used any otherway than just like 2.X was, the first frame locked focus and then frame rate is full. So no C-AF + H-seq if you choose any other AF point than PDAF grid point. That should be clear to everyone.
So C-AF + H-seq turns back to original S-AF+H-seq if choosing any other AF point than the PDAF ones, that the my shown GIF shows as well or that is visible in the modes as I have shown and been talking.
You mentioned a video early. Personally, I'd like to see one if you don't mind.
Thanks,
I can upload one from the same situation as I told video from that setup shooting bursts.
