I bought my 70D 10 months ago when the internet was awash with rumours about the focus issues, I took it home and did a thorough check, not just on the focus issue either. I Micro Adjusted all my lens's then went out shooting, apart from an issue with camera writing to SD card (replaced camera first week) this one has worked flawlessly, it's a great camera. it's just reached 13,000 clicks.

I have three lens's that have a wider aperture or equal to F2.8 and after Micro Adjustment I have not had a problem focusing with any of them.

The only one of the three that needed MFA was my Canon F2.0 100mm, it felt like I had bought a new lens when I had done it.

I do a lot of wildlife, shooting in RAW and it has a good buffer and frame rate for this kind of photography, the focus is a hybrid system of the 7D so they say and I have found it to be very quick and accurate.

One of my lens's is the Tamron 90mm F2.8 Macro, again even using hand held in outdoor situations I get a good keeper rate.

A custom setting on the PASM dial means I can switch from everyday shooting to wildlife action extremely quickly.

Pluses for the 70D over rebels for my kind of photography

Hybrid Focus System, less focus hunting, Faster frame rate, larger buffer, MFA, Custom mode, Longer battery life, appears to have better build quality, weather sealing, dual pixel AF, larger viewfinder.

Above pluses based against my T5i, 700D
