Re: Birds, Birds and BIF: Warning 22 photo's

Thanks

Only used the EE-1 for the Noisy miner shot. I can actually do it without the red dot but the red dot is more tacti-cool. For most bigger and slower birds I prefer to see whats in the frame and keep my left eye open so I'm seeing both the EVF and bird at the same time. Basically im kind of looking at my EVF a little out of focus so what I'm seeing is the bird in my EVF and live with my left eye. It's a bit tricky at first and you may have to train your eyes to do so. Problem with red dot is u don't see what ur framing to well but things like swallows are very fast and can fly very close to you so red dot is a little better used here and especially up close for these bullets.

Sequential H and CAF. Only when locked on can I shoot. Well the other method works too but last 2 weeks iv'e done it that way. Can't decide yet weather I want to have a lock before my shutter fires or should it fire anytime. Still experimenting.

regards,

Vas

Nice shots Vass. I particularly like the Noisy Miner, especially the name.

I assume that you are using the EE-1 for your BIF shots. Can I ask what settings you use: are you using Sequential L or Sequential H and what do you have C-AF Lock set to?

I am just starting to experiment with my 40-150mm + TC + EE-1 and find that I get better shots on Sequential H, so I am shooting with that the whole time. At the moment I have C-AF Lock set to Low and haven't tried anything else, but I am starting to experiment with head-on bursts with the bird coming straight at me and C-AF lock is something that I might want to change.
