I just returned from a trip to the Philippines and now I see you were all right (I was on the 'Argh what is the future?!' bandwagon), Samsung has (almost) everything one needs and is very good! I took the Samyang 12mm, Samsung 30mm & 16-50 PZ and now I see it's all you really need. The only issue I found was sometimes there was not enough light which replacing the PZ for the S lens would pretty much solve.

Upon returning home I picked up the NX500 which actually feels cheaper than the NX300M, it feels a bit more plastic-y but the added second dial is really helpful, the screen seems better in harsh sunlight and the OIS seems better, so I'm happy with it.

The tipping point for me was meeting people travelling and carrying Canon's with lenses as big as the Samsung 50-200 but are technically only as good as the tiny PZ. I think maybe I suffered from GAS, but now I see it, Samsung really is an amazing, lightweight system that pretty much caters to everything, I just need them to release a teleconverter!

All in all the majority of you were right (I did catch the news from Samsung about not leaving the ILC market when I returned which was great to hear). Samsung has pretty much everything any casual user would need including myself. Time to stop worrying about the future and make the best of what I have.

Regards.

Your informative report sums up my NX experiences and I use NX professionally.

At the end of a shoot I always get a kick picking up my tripod with camera mounted and feeling once again how light NX is compared to my Nikon gear.

You did not include the 50-200 above, I am sure you had it with you.

Yes, besides the NX50 ( not cropped 4K ), I need the tele-converters.

My Nikon  glass with adapter and teleconverter is Heavy.
