Cano EF-S 24mm on Sony A5100 (pixel peep at 1:1)

Same location with the SEL 10-18mm (remember to pixelpeep at 1:1)

I highly recommend the 40 2.8 STM (don't let your daughter near it or she will have that too for the A7).

Great idea, this should be my next EOS lens, definitely.

The other thing is see if you can try the lens on M4/3. There are fast AF adapters available (AF-S at least) from Kipon and Metabones......I have the Kipon and the 40 2.8 is really nice on that with pretty much native AF speed.

Very interesting, I am seriously thinking of buying a Panasonic GX8, I simply love its features: high resolution fast tilting EVF, 4K video, adaptability, excellent touch screen (touch-pad focus point selection), no-humps soap-box (rangefinder) shape, exposure compensation dial.

I still love the lens on my A7s/A7 with slower AF too.

I loved my A7, but after using the touch-screen on my Sony A5100, I am not really willing to buy a non-touch screen camera any more, however great it would be anyway.

Have you tried face detect AF? It works great with the 40 2.8 STM on both my Sony's and my M4/3 GX7.

I've seen that the camera detects faces with the EF-S 24mm, too, but I don't know how does it work actiually on my A5100 with AF-S.
