NX1 slow motion football video clip shot at 60 fps and slowed 5x
Sep 28, 2015
I thought I would share a slow motion video I shot on Saturday of my son (QB #3) scoring the winning TD with 9 sec. remaining in the game. I shot the video at 1920 x 1080P 60 fps and slowed the video down 5x. Lens used is the 50-150 S. I normally have been shooting all of my son's football videos at 120 fps in order to have the option of producing quality slow motion video of any plays. However, on Saturday's game I thought I would try shooting all video at 60 fps in order to take advantage of the DIS which isn't available at 120 fps. While the DIS works very well, the overall quality of the slow motion video shot at 60 fps is sub-par compared to 120 fps. Motion blur is definitely more prevalent at 60 fps versus 120 fps (due to 1/125 sec. vs 1/250 sec. shutter speed?). Though I will say that even at 60 fps, the slow motion video is good...though not what I would consider excellent. I will also say that I'm enjoying the heck out of my NX1! The NX1 is no doubt, a video powerhouse!
