I have an EPM2 and got me a Panasonic 45-150 and having a hard time figuring out if its using lens IS or IBIS. I have read that it switches to lens IS when it is available and I have also heard that there is a setting to select which one you want. Would someone please clarify, I seem to be getting all kinds of conflicting info

The rules are here on my page http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~parsog/olyepl1/50-epl5-comments.html#stabilisation and that works the same for the E-PM2.

You must dive into the Custom Menu C - Lens IS Priority = ON then also make sure that IBIS is ON as well in any mode that you normally would use. The IBIS being on acts as the master switch for stabilisation.

Next if an OIS able lens (unswitched type like the excellent Pana 45-150mm) is mounted then OIS rules and you get a nice stabilised live view. You can see the stabilising effect at 150mm as you wave the camera around in live view.

If you change to a non-OIS lens then IBIS rules of course. No need to turn off the Lens IS Priority thing.

The IBIS and the OIS cannot work at the same time in the E-PL5/E-PM2 and later bodies, the firmware prevents that.
