I'd say it's an arguable point, the 135L and 85L are both amazing lenses for image quality.  The 85 suffers much more CA, has SLOW AF, I don't care for the feel of it.  I found it to be not particularly accurate in AF on the bodies I used, though that was pre-5D3.  It's just an unpleasant lens in use to me, and the 135L is so good in image quality and use that it's my favorite.

I completely agree that it's one amongst the greats, and the 85L is on that short list as well.
