Hello

I have both lenses and am working on a comparison IQ between both .This should be ready tomorrow or the day after. The test will comprise images comparing both at several apertures

Personally I should a LOT of models indoors ( hotel rooms) and I find that the difference in focal length in such instances is bigger that one might think

when comparing prices do not forget that the Panasonic includes the hood and the Olympus does not and this is a must have accessory IMO

Thank you, I'll be waiting for your results.

The Olympus 45mm f/1.8 is cute and cheap, but not very well performing unless you stop it down to around f/2.5. Of course, if you don't pixel peep, you may be happy with the result wide open.

Yup, I was happy with mine. Can't really agree with your characterization of it.

I posted a few quick comparison snaps taken after I got the 42.5 f/1.7, here:

The 45mm frame or even really 50mm is at the far limits of what I'd be comfortable with indoors.

Having F/1.7 or F/1.8 is always useful

I like fast lenses, too.

That's a really good shot that tests the 45mm out substantially, it looks really good.
