Good points. Regarding pixel lust, don't forget you can stitch photos together, resulting in 'resolution' far exceeding 50mp. And it's particularly easy when doing landscapes. Of course, you can do that with any camera

This photo has a resolution of 24 megapixels and was stitched together vertically with two landscape shots taken with a 45mm lens. I wasn't originally intending to 'get more definition,' just couldn't fit everything in. It did however provide the opportunity to get a shorter focus on the lower photo (the yucca plant) while maintaining a longer focus on the mountains, in the upper photo.
