I learnt this info from a trusted source:

Canon EOS 6D Mark II will be announced Q1 2016.

24 megapixels

Sounds right. 5D4 will have a little more.

About 1.4x better ISO performance than 6D Classic.

That would be amazing.

Low-light autofocus (centre point) at -5 EV

Canon engineers test two different AF systems for the 6DII, still nobody knows which one will make it to the final product, both feature more AF points than 6D Classic.

WiFi with NFC and GPS

Given.

Wireless battery charging with the Qi standard

Interesting.

Internally Canon switches from VxWorks to an Android-based embedded OS, 6D Mark II will be the first Android-based camera from Canon.

What are the advantages/disadvantages between VxWorks vs Android?

VxWorks is not what Canon uses. VxWorks is a fast, compact embedded systems OS. Canon uses DryOS by the way (more modern, also a focussed embedded system OS). Android is slow, needs lots of processing power, will use much more energy and space and would be a very weird choice for a serious, focussed photography tool.

Dual-pixel autofocus technology

Touchscreen

Swivel LCD a-la-70D

That would be huge for many.

Anti-flicker a-la-7DII

Will ship in a new box design in gold colour.

This last piece is making me think the info could be genuine.

Yeah, especially since gold is the colour that Nikon uses! Very "genuine". Canon only recently made the switch from white with red and black boxes to silver boxes. BS meter going nuts here.

Oops.

No offence to Nikon shooters. But that box saqs.

It does. Nikon has been using gold boxes since forever. They did not always use that hoorid yellow logo though. This was from the 1967-1975 Nikkormat FTn:

Safe to say that this 1 post account with "trusted source" is just doing an experiment with seeing how silly rumors spread. Silly made up "rumor"

But did you notice that Canon is leaning towards gold a bit with their 5Ds (lettering)

and its box?

Whoops!

That is not gold. Leaning to gold a bit is usually called champagne coloured or other exotic naming....
