On-sensor PDAF does NOT need calibration either (what for?). It is the PDAF support build into the LAEA4 adapter (using a mirror and separate focus sensors) that requires calibration. At least that's my understanding.

Just think about it: Lens is at certain focal length. Image is perfectly sharp on-sensor (CDAF or PDAF). What more do you want to calibrate??? I used legacy manual focus lenses on Canon 5D and 5Dii - was very difficult to get consistent sharp focus. Switched to Sony, using focus magnifier, everything tack sharp exactly where I want it.
