I have to agree for the most part.  The "read out" from the sensor should be identical.  This is digital electronics that we're talking about.  As far as heat goes, that should only come into play in edge cases, if comes into play at all.  Again, I think that any differences observed in that test shot (which looks nearly identical noise-wise in most areas) are probably more due to flaws in the actual methodology or implementation of the test than they are due to differences between the two cameras.
