T6s Controls

I was very used to making camera settings with my T3i.  I had hoped the T6s would provide even more capability and ease of use.  So far I have been disappointed.  I typically shoot in aperture priority.  For every shot I consider the choice of aperture and exposure compensation.  With my T3i, I used the upper wheel to adjust aperture and pushed the Q button to adjust eV.  That no longer works with my T6s.  When I use the Q button I must then select eV and make the adjustment.  Next shot when I want to adjust the aperture, both upper and lower wheels have been reset to eV and I need to go to the Q button to select aperture adjustments.  This greatly slows down my ability to quickly adjust the camera settings.

Last night I discovered another issue.  I attempted to shoot a long exposure with bulb.  With the T3i, a timer was visible on the corner of the lcd screen.  That did not happen with the T6s.  Instead the timer is very small and on the upper screen.  That screen is not lit.  Pushing the light button can move the camera while making an exposure.  In addition the light turns off after a few seconds.  So there is no way to use the camera at night to time a bulb shoot.  That is a really poor design.

So far I like the higher resolution.  The focusing is better especially for macro.  Unfortunately the use of the controls seems very cumbersome.  This camera is not a good choice for anyone who does sports, wildlife or other photography requiring rapid camera setting adjustments.
