You do not say what other lenses/bodies you have. If this is your only camera and lens, the no brainier is the 14-140 lens. The price differential is pretty low. The 14-140 will be far more flexible as a single everyday and walkabout lens. Great for travel/holidays too. Although the 14-140 is bigger than the kit 14-42 lens it is still quite compact and lightweight. If you want to add another lens later, consider the 12-32mmm, which is vey compact and gives you an effective 24mm at the wide end. The difference between that and the effective 28mm of the two zooms starting 14mm is quite significant.

i used the G7 last week, at a workshop, it is very good indeed. Enjoy

I have a pair of G6 cameras and the 14/140 is by far the most used lens. It is very highly regarded and sharp at pretty much all settings. It is the one lens that you can take out all day and you will not regret leaving other lenses at home.

It is perfectly balanced with the G cameras and I can carry the unit around all day by my fingertips at my side, not even using my thumb to grip it sometimes even while walking briskly. In terms of size and weight, the G6 [and probably the G7] with lens is the same depth from EVF to front of lens as my Sony A57 with either 35 or 50mm plastic prime fitted. The G6 is very noticeably lighter.
