16-85 vs 18-135 on K3 Target Board
1

Just a couple of JPEG handheld shots using AF. Target board 40"x64" Each section of bars labeled with how many line pairs per inch it is. Some sections have bars of same pitch oriented orthogonally to each other. With no astigmatism or coma, the bars would have equal contrast. With astigmatism, one will see unequal contrast if the bars happen to be away from the surface of best focus. Away from the center of the image, it is clear the 16-85 has very little astigmatism but the 18-135 has some.

Some of my motivation today is I just want to see how the shots look using the new image viewing format Dpreview just launched.

Of course one normally does not use AF for these kinds of shots. But in the past I found things didn't change much using MF or LiveView AF. (I shot these at f/5.6... with a faster lens not using AF would be more important)

Lateral chromatic aberration correction was turned ON. Other corrections turned off.

18-135

16-85
