600D intermittent LCD display fault

Hi

My 600D, ca. 3 years old, which is lightly used only for indoor work has developed an intermittent fault on the LCD display. For a while corrupt with coloured bars. Then disappears and can only see trace of backlight come on. But if leave for days the screen is fine again, menu or live view and then goes.

It seems display related as remote control and live view on PC and image capture is fine.

Anyone suggest where fault lies. Screen replacement looks cheap and straightforward (£7 part from Ebay China) and YouTube videos on procedure but if display is coming back fine, it suggests it may not be display itself.

Have removed back and reset the electronic connectors in case dirty.

Thanks for any insight.
