I want to replace the 14-42 Panasonic kit lens I have on my GX1 as I am not too happy with the results I get.
I am looking at the Sigma 30mm 2.8. Will it be an upgrade I terms of image sharpness and color rendition?
I had the Sigma 60mm f/2.8 DN and the Sigma 30mm f/2.8 DN to use with my E-M10. I was going to get the 19mm f/2.8 DN but just never got around to it and now my son has my two Sigmas to use with his GX7 to chase my grandson around with. The 30mm and the 60mm have excellent IQ are are very sharp. AF was also fast on my E-M10. The main reason these lenses are very sharp and have excellent IQ is that they were actually designed for use on Sony APS-C bodies and then modified for M43. That means that the M43 versions are using the sweet center portion of the lens. While a lens is partly responsible for the color rendition you get, the image processor and sensor in the camera also have a big effect on the final result. So, while there will probably be some differences in the color rendition you see, it's hard to tell how much that will be.
