I am interested in what the Canon G3X has to offer from those who have recently purchased it. I have used a G9 since it came out in 2006. My primary camera is the EOS-5d Mark III but there are times when I don't want to carry that plus three prime lenses, tripod and flash. The G9 served me well but it has it's limitations. I usually do not buy a camera or lens when it is first introduced and would like to know from those that have it what they think. Obviously the focal ranges are my main concern and a reason I would buy it. Would someone who has purchased it offer some advise. The lack of a view finder does not particularly both me.
I shoot Canon DSLRs and got the M with all 4 lenses for a lightweight option. I'm happy with both and the slow focus on the M doesn't bother me for what I use it for. However, I shoot long lenses quite a lot and the 200 on the M isn't long enough at times. So I just got the G3X, my reasons 1" sensor is as small as I want to go currently, 600mm equiv is long enough, it's smaller, lighter and longer than the other 1" options, taken my Canon flashes. If I didn't have the M I wouldn't have bought it but I've found the M easy enough to hand hold without a viewfinder. That I may pick-up a used VF if I see one at the right price, going to borrow my pals one from his M3 to try.
The weather hasn't been too kind since I've had it but I have some samples up here

No resizing but a crop on some. BTW I still have a G9 but it doesn't get much use.
