I am interested in what the Canon G3X has to offer from those who have recently purchased it. I have used a G9 since it came out in 2006. My primary camera is the EOS-5d Mark III but there are times when I don't want to carry that plus three prime lenses, tripod and flash. The G9 served me well but it has it's limitations. I usually do not buy a camera or lens when it is first introduced and would like to know from those that have it what they think. Obviously the focal ranges are my main concern and a reason I would buy it. Would someone who has purchased it offer some advise. The lack of a view finder does not particularly both me.
What the dslr has over the G3 X is faster AF and much cleaner pixel peeping/cropping.
If you are happy with that trade-off, then you'll like the G3 X. For me, the G3 X is a good all-rounder for travel. When you have a specific task, especially in bright or low light where good DR is important in pp, use the dslr.
