Active directory doesn't remember your passwords. Just the hashes of passwords.

That is an weak defense, if that's all you've got.

Here is a tool to return the plain text source, given a hash. All hackers need to do is try all the available hash algorithms (MD5, SHA1).

Password aging is a huge pain in the a55, and the longer anyone stays at the same job, the worse it gets.

We used to have a mandatory six month ageing of passwords, no way around it, which was a pain to everybody.
