Night Lights and Crocodile Bites

A bit of night time photography on the banks of the Manchester Ship canal at Ellesmere Port , just North of Chester . ( North-West of the U.K )

I quite often meet up with a friend and go out on a photography session , and if that can be tied in with going out for a nice meal and a few drinks , so much the better !

.

These were taken outside the Jabula restaurant , a South African restaurant . Lots of unusual , exotic foods to eat .

Great food , nice atmosphere , well worth a visit if your in the area .

The first shot is of the cooling towers in Runcorn . We had hoped to get a perfectly flat water to get the reflections on . A ship had passed while we were eating and the water never settled down .

I used a Dynax 7d and , IIRC a CZ 16-80mm lens .

Over the Estuary , Stanlow Oil Refinery .

The next shot was taken when we returned the following spring on my birthday , this shot was taken a bit further back including the monument erected by the Ellesmere Port Boat Museum .

To the left is Christine , taking a shot , not normally one to pose for a photo but caught unawares ! I processed the shot to make it look like an aged postcard adding a border and some grain .

The shot was taken with a Sony a100 and CZ 16-80mm lens .

Long Exposure .

Thanks for looking .
