I can get a Fuji XA1 with the 16-50 for 299€. I have the XE1 and XT1. Am I missing something special by not having the XA1, like better fine detail for landscapes with its Bayer sensor?

Enrique

Yes.

You already have a nice stable of cameras. Do you really need another?

So, is it just G.A.S. or is it a real need that your other cameras can't fulfill?

Good luck whatever you decide to do.

Lena

No GAS. I was wondering about the relative merits of the Bayer sensor for landscapes.

I would get in a split second a Fuji camera with fast AF. I feel frustrated when I get many portraits out of focus because the person being photographed was nervous and moving rapidly.

Enrique

You have an X-E1 and an X-T1 ... Not sure what the X-A1 is going to bring to the table here.

The Bayer sensor, better for landscapes according to some?

Enrique

You just need a RAW converter that handles X-Trans properly; I believe there was a thread on here showing the difference the RAW converter actually made. X-A1 doesn't resolve any better than X-E1. It's the workflow that matters.

Lightroom's X-Trans performance is a real shame, because imo it's by far the most convenient RAW converter to use. In fact I still use it despite knowing I'm missing out on some foliage detail, the plug ins are just too good to do without.

What RAW Converter for Fuji do you recommend?

How about Fuji's own Silkypix or just n-camera RAW converter?

Lena

I use Adobe Lightroom 5.

I mean, don't get me wrong, there are some better options out there if you really need the leaves in that distant tree to look impeccable, but for me, workflow and convenience (my existing plugins) beats the what the others bring to the table.

I realize this forum is a nerdfest, with all the shooting of brick walls and random detail tests, but trust me on this, if you cannot get good pictures in Lightroom, moving to Iridient or Phase One isn't going to save your photography lol.

Use any RAW converter that makes life easy for you, they all suffice, every single one of them.
