I knew there was a combination AF going on with EM1 but not that is was PDAF exclusive in high speed.

For M4/3 lenses it was introduced with Firmware 3.0 released in March this year..

With legacy glass it is obviously PDAF only regardless.
So with legacy lenses there should not be a difference?

I thought FW3 only allowed focus between shots in high speed (above 6.5 fps) instead of locked from first frame as with FW2.
I never knew it was now using PDAF exclusively.
I need to revisit testing it but as my main sport lens is legacy glass I suppose I will not see much improvement as the aperture mechanism does not seem capable of keeping up anyway.
