Magic Lantern Questions - T3i/600D

Hello - I shoot a Canon T3i / 600D and have been curious about down loading Magic Lantern,

but have questions that I'm hoping to get answered.

First . . .

• What do most of you think of Magic Lantern ?

Do you use it and like it ? or are there reasons to stay away from it ?

• One of the main reasons that I'm interested in ML is better FOCUS options :

- I enjoy the results that I can achieve form shooting composed images

using old manual lens form the 1980's - but obviously one of the issues is

not having split screen focus like on a pre-digital SLR.

- Magic Lantern seems to have some options to get visual focus confirmation,

but I am wondering if those features only work on Canon AF lens's, in so far as, is there any communication necessary from the lens to the body in order for magic lantern focusing to work.

Obviously with a lens form the 1980, the camera body has no way of sending signals to or from the lens, so it really is old school manual, so will ML Focusing work on an old manual focus lens form the 1970/80's ?

• Can anyone here direct me to where to best download Magic Lantern for a T3i ,

if there is a specific version for the T3i ?

• On the focus question - I have red that there are other focus screens available ? is there a Split Screen Focus screen available ? IF any one has some experience with these, I'd be curious to hear your thoughts.

Thank You _
