As numerous websites and posts here have commented, the SX60 was not an improvement over the SX50.

Perhaps so, but I am more then pleased with my SX60. Enough so that I will be selling my 7D and 17-55 f2.8 lens.

I have them all, well, most of them, and I now believe the SX60hs has been kicked around more than it deserves.  Yes, at full tele it gets to be a handful, even a bit blotchy unless held really steady.  At closer ranges it can equal the SX50 in every way.  The ergonomics (handling, controls and user interface) are superior.

Some complain that the 4-way is hard to use, small and too set in but it seems it's a matter of getting used to it and it doesn't require the rotator function.   Most everything is superior to the SX50 ignoring the over done zoom.  The extra wide end is very useful.  Overall it wins when EVERY aspect is considered.

One thing not mentioned is the fact that the SX60 file sizes are about double those of the SX50.  More MPs and the Digic 6 are factors which may contribute to a somewhat 'smoother' look to photos.  I do feel that this camera requires more personal tweaking to get the most out of it.

Right now until I can see otherwise it is my #1 and the SX50 my #1.5.  It deserves more than just being #2.
