Oh, I wasn't strictly saying I haven't noticed differences in the way the stabilization on the two lenses function. I have just been unable to find information on the internet as to which of them has superior optical/image stabilization.

I know that the Canon 70-200 f/2.8 IS II has superior image stabilization compared to the Sigma, but the Canon 70-200 f/4 IS is 4 years older than the Sigma, so it could have worse stabilization than the Sigma.

I remember some IS test in a printed photo magazine a few years ago. They tested 15 or so Canon and as many Nikon lenses. The 70-200/4 IS was among the nest 2-3.

In my experience, the IS is phenomenal. I did not find the IS of the f/2.8 II better (or worse) but I only had it for a few days.
