NX mini (digital level: horizontal calibration)

What a fun little camera.

I finally got my NXmini yesterday, after sending back an open-box as defective.

Quickly became very happy with it, except the digital level was way out of whack, and I couldn't find how to calibrate it. After an very unhelpful response from Samsung support, I found it under "Display Adjustment" as "Horizontal Calibration" - I guess when I first explored all the menus, I unconsciously associated that with setting the centering and width on old monitors, and simply categorized that menu as "the usual display adjustments. Old guys with brain damage can have that kind of problem.

So now the digital level is calibrated, and seems more "tight" than its open-box predecessor, as well as acquiring a fore-aft level I don't remember seeing on the o-b. Either I missed it, or it came with the firmware update I never managed on the had-been-dropped-on-hard-floor open-box sample.

With the 9mm, the camera slips in my jeans pocket just fine. It is a great little walking-around camera, especially for my after-dinner walks.

It will probably stay on monochrome P-mode (maybe allowed a little more ISO latitude sometimes), as my "pocket Leica 246," but switchable to color by just changing mode. And the Leica (which I can't afford) doesn't have tilt-screen or digital level, either.  ;}
