Having been a programmer from 1966 to at least the late 1990s, I'm not sure we have the same perception as to how programmers work :}

Respect! I was not 100% serious here. My perception is that in the past, programmers could move faster, now we have to depend on a million of ever-changing libraries containing a trillion bugs, follow gazillion procedures...

Wifi is radio, it is already in the products, it has potential for offering additional features, such as having the software match AOV or DOF between two mismatched lenses or sensors, and to display live view from multiple cameras simultaneously - wouldn't you like to be able to free-view side-by-side stereo pairs created from two-camera live-views? or even more cameras on a tablet?

Absolutely! I think the app from Sony should handle AOV of devices by setting the zoom, DOF may be trickier to implement. From the docs, previews from multiple cameras are already available in the app. Side-by-side stereo pair live views are probably not available in the app from Sony, but an app that offers that could be coded... Nice idea anyway, do you mean something like Oculus Rift as a view finder?

I was thinking the same thing about the parallel viewfinder feed.
You could attach on the phone screen one of those supercheap VR viewers like google cardboard or my personal preference ... http://goggletech.net/index.php?route=product/product&path=33&product_id=30

If the synhronization actually works then someone could design a device that includes both a dual mount for the lens cameras and a parallel VR viewer for the phone screen. This could be 3d printable and very cheap to produce.

@abwz thanks for your time and effort.

Keep in mind that soon when occulus rift and the rest of the headsets arrive we will go through a second (Post Avatar) VR / 3D Revolution so we ll probably see new 3d cameras/ TVs, headsets ect. Gopro have already teamed up with google to produce 3d panoramic cameras for VR.
