Blinking Aperture in View Finder in Low Light

So I am actually shooting an event, my equipment is a Canon T3i Rebel and my I have a variety of low level lenses which have apertures as low as f/4. My question is more on proper shooting to get the right exposure. I am trying to assume the worst case scenario at my event.

I am assuming the event will have:

Low light

Fast moving performers (I want to freeze them in motion, not blur them)

So if I turn up my shutter speed to 1/125 or higher in low light, my aperture blinks in my viewfinder. But my camera still allows me to take the shot! The histogram shows it is under exposed (because everything is shifted to the left), but can I post process this raw file in light room to brighten up and still salvage the detail in the shadows? Can I get away with this or is this not the right way?

My camera's recommended settings are aperture of 4.0 and shutter speed of 1/10 of second. I feel like this is cutting it too close and can cause blurring and I am not freezing the motion at this recommended shutter speed. So thats why I am asking the question if its ok to shoot even though my aperture blinks.

Canon EOS 600D (EOS Rebel T3i / EOS Kiss X5)
