I'm considering letting the Oly go and replacing it with a Panasonic 14-45mm f3.5-5.6.

Why, because the 12-40 is just TOOOO BIG AND HEAVY.

I don't really need f2.8.

I've had the the Panny 14-45 before, years ago, beautiful little lens.

'Little'...isn't that what M4/3 is supposed to be all about?

Oh gee, another whine about m4/3 pro lenses.  If you didn't want a heavy, expensive, weather sealed, fast pro lens, then why did  you buy it?  You could buy several slow, less wide, variable aperture, non-weather sealed lenses for the price.

Don't like it, don't use it.  Don't want it, then sell it.

And if you think "little" is what m4/3 is all about, then just buy the little lenses and stay away from the big lenses.

Me, I like the fast lenses.  I have the slow ones; never use them.  Guess I'm just not a "sunny day" photographer.  Give me clouds, shadows, interiors.  Even if I'm stopping down for DOF, I like the fast lenses for more assured focus.

Of course, I had the big, heavy Zuiko SHG lenses, but now I have the big, heavy Nikon lenses.  A world of difference.  I skied with a 29lb pack to shoot the Alpine World Cup; a couple of pro m4/3 lenses are a piece of cake.
