Flare in the Panny 12-32
1

In my experience, the little Panny 12-32 does very well handling lights within the frame. But I had a situation today with the sun outside the frame. have a look:

As I was walking past the tree near my house this morning, I heard voices! "I talk to the trees, and they talk back to me. I whispered…" Well, not, actually. Some of the local lads were just sitting around in the handy tree, catching the breeze. Since I had the GX7 with the 12-32 in my bag, I whipped it out to photograph them. Pointing the camera upwards, I hit a critical angle and WHOMP! Flare!

Virtually the same shot with a hand shading the lens. Makes quite a difference!

I don't have a lens hood on the 12-32 as I have the JJC automatic lens cap fitted. I just rely on shading with my hand when necessary.

Incidentally, I took advantage of the tilting EVF for these pictures. The screen would have been pretty hopeless. Too much light around and reflections in my glasses as well as on the screen.
