SX60 upgrade from SX50

I really like my SX50, but find it too slow for photographing birds.  First let me say that I do have the Canon 70D and 6D with telephoto lenses, but I prefer to grab my bridge camera when going for walks or in the canoe.   Would it be worth the upgrade to the SX60?  Is the IQ the same and is the camera faster?  I shoot RAW and find that by the time I release the shutter button on my SX50 that the bird has often flown away.  Any advice?  Thanks
