Re: Hokay - Have the EM5-II here
It's all subjective of course, but I always think the E-M5 II is an utterly beautiful looking camera, whether silver or all-black. It's got the single-digit OM look spot-on, thanks to the shape of the "prism" and the fact that the baseplate is finally shallow enough to look convincing -
Yeah, always thought that with the 5 and 10 - the silver EM1 reminds me of a quacky plastic DSLR for some reason ..... the only really Naff bit of the 5-II is the port cover, it looks about as weathersealed as a sieve, I`d not want water running down my hand onto that !
th The delay is now initially set up in Shooting Menu 2,
So I take it then that setting it the same as the EM1 (Diamond shooting mode with 0-sec) engages the true EFCS on the 5-II .. it sure seems to make less noise, in fact it barely makes any more noise than the tiny Stepper shutter in the GM1/5 or the Aperture diaphragm in some lenses ! -
"Silent" mode now really is only for 16,000th sec shooting I guess apart from rare hear a "pin drop" events ..... BTW has anyone found out if the E-Shutter has the same limitations as the Panasonics such as slow scanning like the GX7 , reduced bitrate like the GH4 / GM series and banding in sone lighting like all the Panasonics ?
That lovely quiet shutter mechanism (which is the only shutter I've ever actually enjoyed the sound of!) sounds pretty much the same whether in EFCS or not.
I actually thought it was quieter in EFCS (Diamond 0-sec in EM1 speak) mode
I don't have a GM5, but I believe you need to carefully shave the little flange down at the front of the FL-LM3's foot
Thanks - hopefully it still fits the EM5-II OK afterwards
