Re: 2x compact camera 3d rig suggestions.

I tried a couple of mirrored 3D attachments, including a Pentax 3d beam splitter, with my Konica Minolta DiMAGE A200. They worked but I didn't like being limited to a vertical image and I wanted higher resolution images.

I next bought a Stroboframe 300-115 Vertaflip PHD Camera Platform and mounted it on a slider. I modified the slider removing the worm drive and using a bulldog clip to control the distance the camera slides. This rig lets use my Canon 7D DSLR in either horizontal or vertical orientation and slide it side to side fairly quickly. It is great for high quality scenic or architectural images but sliding the camera side to side is too slow for animated subjects.

Having gone to all this trouble I had a friend bring me a Fuji Real 3D W3 from Japan - I couldn't find one here in Thailand.

Guess which camera I use 99% of the time.

Yep, the Fuji.
