internals are the same. Whatever the differences are the E-M5 MkII not only take more time on startup (about 2 sec), but also burns power at about a 10% faster rate.

Sounds like a more powerful CPU chewing up the power and needing a more complex OS to run to get that fancy IBIS, EFCS and HR mode going (rather like a beefy Quad core taking 10X longer to boot Windows-8.1 from a solid state drive than a 386 did to load Windows 3.1 from a rattly old 40-meg 5" HDD)
