No idea what the difference is. This is a good example of why we should not assume the internals are the same. Whatever the differences are the E-M5 MkII not only take more time on startup (about 2 sec), but also burns power at about a 10% faster rate.

To be fair, battery endurance in these models is really quite good when you consider how many shots you can take in 2.5 to 2.75 hours. Keep in mind that the number of shots taken has little to do with how long your battery will last. Battery endurance in OM-D's (and likely other mirrorless cameras) is dominated by the amount of time the camera is powered up.
