Re: To those with both EM5-II and EM1
  • Significantly better grip than E-M5MkII + HLD-8.

Expected that ...........

  • Faster startup time.
  • Significantly better C-AF

two which are pretty meaningless to me thankfully ..

  • Marginally better battery endurance (2.75 hrs vs 2.5 hrs per pack).

I wonder why - they both have the same spec LCD and EVF - maybe the new IBIS saps more power ?

  • Removable grip takes up less space in pocket (great for theater).
  • Silent shutter (great for theater work).

I do this commercially and although mostly with a 1DS-III during the dress rehearsal for Promo stuff , I often have to shoot live and Silence is Golden ( can get away with the EM1 but silent is better) I`ve used Pans before but often theres banding due to lighting frequencies so the quiet mech shutter and true EFCS wil be even better than the EM1 . I guess the full E-Shutter on the Oly has the same issues as the Pans ?
