I can't tell what is going on from this photo. I recommend photographing a person at 1 meter and at a distance, but focus on the near eye. If the lashes are sharp, you are fine. Another test is to stagger books in a bookcase, and photograph one of them. This way you can tell if the lens is OK, but be sure to stagger depth in front and behind the target book. There are also more formal tests, and you can check online.

The first 85F1.8 I got front focused too much. I sent it back for another that was OK. The AF was consistently in front in the replacement by about 1/4" and it is easy to compensate for that. This was with cameras without microadjust. If the lens is on at close distances but not far, that is a clear indicator that you need a swap.
